When Should I Take The Elisa Test?

Dear sir, good morning, This is ratnam from hyderabad and 2 and half months back i met a call girl and i licked her pussy. I did not have any intercourse but immediately i met doctor he said u need to test at 3 months and 6 months. after 2 months i went for elisa its negative. but still i have to wait upto six months or 3 months ok. Please let me know sir i am so much worried

ELISA is a sensitive test for HIV and highly specific.
If the ELISA is directed to trap both antigen and antibody,
then after a few weeks, the results will be confirmatory.

However, if the ELISA is to trap just antibodies, then you will
need to do the test at three months and at 6 months again.
In that case, a simple rapid test will serve the same function as
an ELISA that targets only antibodies.
