What Should I Do About High Blood Pressure Even After Taking Carvedilol And Losartan?

My B/P today has been 201/98 at 8:30 am with a fasting blood sugar of 125. Took Carvedilol 25 mg and Losartan 100 mg. Ate. At 1:pm, B/P is 205/102. sugar dropped to 66 (OJ/food then), Now, at 3:pm, B/P is 198/97. Should I take Lasix 40 mg or more B/P med? I am a 75 y/o woman.

Hi,

Looking at your age and blood pressure level along with medications you are taking I would suggest:
- To get a cardiologist's advice for heart check up and then adjust, BP medications.
- Similarly to meet a Diabetes specialist and exclude diabetes.
Get investigated as per need treatment of diabetes, keeping blood sugar in normal limit and have improved life style helps normalization of blood pressure.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

In such conditions, we recommend to take Lasix as a fast reliever. Then in the continuing days you should see your doctor to evaluate the current treatment. Probably adjustments should be done related to it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
