What medications other than Melatonin can help me sleep better at night?

I am an extreme night owl--not by choice-- according to what I just read here, and I have done and taken everything my doctors have prescribed or suggested. In addition, I have tried all the behavior modifications to help me change my sleep schedule. Are there any new medicines, supplements (besides melatonin which I take) or ideas out there?

Hello,

It would have been useful to know what medications you have already tried in order to make a more precise recommendation. There are many drugs for insomnia and there might be some you haven't used.

Anyway the most recent introduction among the medication for insomnia is Suvorexant (Belsomra) which has been introduced only in these last few years. So if other alternatives have been exhausted you may discuss its use with your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
