What Is The Treatment For UTI?

I felt a UTI coming on Thursday as I was traveling to Virginia for a wedding. I didn t have an opportunity to see a doctor until Sunday. Saturday I started taking azo to help the symptoms, Sunday at an urgent care clinic in Virginia they did a urine analysis and diagnosed the UTI and prescribed cipro 250 mg 2x a day for 3 days. I traveled back to portland that day and began the antibiotics. Today (Tuesday and day 3 of treatment) I don t feel like the symptoms have improved much and I have followed the instructions given as well as continued to take azo and cranberry extract. Should I return to a doctor?

Hello

Slow response to antibiotic may be related to inappropriate antibiotic.
You may need proper antibiotic depending upon culture and sensitivity report.
You may need clinical correlation and investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, urine culture and sensitivity, ultrasound of KUB region.
You may also need alkalizing syrup.
Drink lot of water.
Don't worry, you will be fine with appropriate antibiotics.

Get well soon.
Take Care
