What Is The Solution For -3.5 And -2.75 Power In Eyes Of A Child?

my son is 4 years old .he got a reading of -3.5 in LEFT EYE AND -2.75 in RIGHT EYE .We have been asked to come after 2 days to confirm the number and for further check -up ..Is the only solution glasses? and can this problem be solved afterwards permanantly.We don't have a family history of eye problems.

Your son is having cylindrical defect which is to be corrected by specs only It is difficult to do refraction for a child of 4 years specially when it is high cylinder. first as his accommodation is very strong. And child's cooperation in reading the chart. So it may take time. Refraction is to be done after atropine application this problem will not resolved permanently. please bear with the child and doctor. Every thing will be all right. other action can be taken when the child grows up.
