Hi there,
Treatment for varicose veins depends on what is causing it.
- It can be due to problem in deep venous system
- or a problem in superficial venous system
- or in perforators.

Foam sclerotherapy is not treatment of choice for varicose veins.

Your Doppler would have showed problem either at junctions ( junctional incompetence) or perforator incompetence.

Both of these can be treated by foam sclerotherapy. But the risk of recurrence via recanalsation is high.

I would recommend either laser or radiofrequency ablation. There is risk of recanalisation but relatively less when compared to foam sclerotherapy.

Gold standard is to do vein stripping but not advised since it is a open surgery (needs incison).

Duration of hospitalization is based on your convenience. For any of the above said procedures, it can be done in a day care basis.

# surgery alone is not the treatment of varicose veins. Need to be on compression therapies and limb elevation along with ankle exercises to improve blood flow.

Take care.
