What Is The Cause Of An Abdominal Pain?

Ache/gnawing sensation in Right Upper Quadrant about 2/3 inches to the right of my Xyphoid process on the costal margin, comes and goes, when it flares up it last about 5 days. Almost feels like a spasm that will not relax, worse before I eat. No vomiting, nausea or upset stomache, no loss of appetite.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi!Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

If I were your doctor, I would examine your abdomen physically preferably during the episode of pain, and would also advise you for an ultrasound abdomen to rule out any hepatico-biliary-pancreatic disease. If this is excluded, and the problem persists, I might refer you to a gastro enterologist for a possible endoscopic evaluation of your GI tract. Further management would depend on the result of the physical examination and reports of investigations done so far.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
