What Does Pain In The Fingers Indicate?

I m 60 years and over the past six months I developed pain in my fingers first my right hand then my left hand. Some mornings I can t unbend my fingers. They ache through out the day which causes my hands to ache. It hurts to hold a comb or the steering wheel. The side of some of my fingers is tender to touch also the palm of my hands at the joints.

1)Do a clinical examination by your Doctor[rheumatologist] and check your serum uric acid level to confirm.

2)For pain you can take OTC painkiller like [ibuprofen] and for prescription medications like [Colchicine and Corticosteroids]discuss with your Doctor.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -

1)Keep your fluid intake high. Stay well-hydrated, including plenty of water and try to limit sweetened beverages.

2)Try to limit or avoid alcohol particularly[Beer]

3)Get your protein from low-fat dairy products.

4)Try to limit your intake of meat, fish and poultry.

5)Try to maintain a desirable body weight. Choose portions that allow you to maintain a healthy weight.
