What Does A Small Lump On Knee Indicate?

Hi when I bend my right knee, on the top right a small lump appears ( only when I bend). Really worried, I do a fair bit of exercise recently changed my exercise regime to a more intense workout. Always had the lump (when bent) but for a few days it s giving minor discomfort

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,
If you have always had it then it should not be anything serious.
If it has appeared in the past few months or so then it could be a fluid collection due to a minor injury called a Synovial effusion.
I suggest you see an Orthopaedic Surgeon who can examine you and guide for the best course of management. You should get the consultation so that you can know what is the swelling?
Take care and do not worry.
Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
