What Does A Lump On The Buttocks Indicate?

I have a lump on my butt, preferably at the top in between my bottlocks. It's sore and painful I can barley sit or move? I've had it for a few days, just wondering if it's anything serious I'm hoping it will pass and I don't have to see a doctor. Thanks
