What Do Pain And Swelling In The Foot Indicate?

My primary Dr. Looked at results of an MRI of foot & ankle! I 'm a 70 year old who fell down the last four steps on Dec. 10, swelling & extra sentativety is still previlant & painful . He wants me keep leg elavated with ice packs at 20 minutes intervals.Do you agree?

I agree with this if you are able to do movements at your joint. The swelling/pain are due to effusion and it subside with time. Elevation helps in fastening the process.
