What Could Loss Of Appetite And Lack Of Sleep In Children Suggest?

My grandson, age 17, 6 1 is experiencing loss of appetite resulting in a 5 lb weight loss in the last few weeks. He is also complaining he cannot fall asleep till at least eleven o clock at night. He usually goes to bed by 9:30 pm as he starts school at 6:45 am.

Hello

I think loss of appetite can be due some mental stress, provided common medical causes like fever, gastroenteritis etc. are ruled out.

Some appetite stimulant like cyproheptadine syrup will help to normalise appetite.

Sleep inducin drugs like zolpidem (prescription drug) can help to sleep.
