What Could Cause Chronic Headaches And Fatigue When CAT Scans, Blood Tests Are All Clear?

Hello, I suffer from chronic headaches and have since I was about 12. I am now 24. I have seen my doctor, a woman I like and trust several times and we have done CAT scans, blood tests, and talked about my diet. I am generally healthy, though very slightly overweight. I drink plenty of water and take supplements (including B vitamins, including B12 which I apparently do not absorb easily through food) and the last piece of advice she gave me after exhausting these avenues was to keep a headache journal and attempt to find any correlation between times of day, things I had eaten, etc. When I began seeing her I gave up all caffeine for 3 months at her request and noticed no difference. More recently I have also begun to feel tired all of the time, especially after 3, lethargic, and unmotivated. I get at least 7 hours of sleep a night and have consistently for the last year..any advice?

Headaches are often one of the most challenging conditions for doctors to find a cause for and to treat. There are many different types of headaches and the treatments for these vary widely. With respect to your doctor, who seems to have done an excellent job thus far, you should consult a neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of headaches. At the same time, you might considering consulting a qualified pain physician. Look for someone with Board Certification in Pain Medicine, not just someone who prescribes pain drugs, as those will likely make your situation far worse.
