What Causes White Strands Of Tissues In Urine?

I have been diagnosed with having kidney stones they put me on Flomax to help dialate my ureters so I can pass them easily. While straining my urine, besides the gravel, I noticed white tissue like strands in the strainer. I was wondering what it meant? Thought maybe from passing the stone it had scraped the tissue out of my ureter?

Hello, yes it could be the tissue scraped or it could be what we call as hyaline casts or epithelial casts which are seen it patients with renal stones. I would suggest you to watch your urine after you have passed all the stones.
If it still contains the whitish strands, get an urine routine examination done and see for any abnormal report.
I think the whitish strands will disappear as you have passed the stone.
thank you
