What Causes White Stingy Substance In Urine After Urinostomy?

My mother has a urinostomy (sp) ? on her stomach and has alot of a white stingy substance in her urine and causes her opening from her stoma to clog somewhat. can you give me an idea what it is or the cause of it. She does drink a protien powder in her coffee a few times aday?

Hi there,

White stingy substance in her urostomy may indicate that she has of an infection of her urine. I'd recommend she have her urine tested with a urinalysis, and she should make sure she drinks plenty of fluids in the meantime, as she may simply be a bit dehydrated. I don't think this is related to the protein powder, but you can try stopping it and see if this helps.
