What Causes White Lines At The Bottom Of Left Eye Retina?

I went to the eye doctor yesterday and he found two white lines at the bottom of my left retina. He said that it meant something was going on in my body and he would consult with my doctor. What kind of diseases could they be looking for? He said they look like cotton strands lying on the eye..

it can be vitreous detachment and fibrous band attached to retina. hyperventilation and diabetes is to be excluded. what is visual status? if acuity is normal then nothing to worry. retina surgeon can be consulted for examination and opinion.
