What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain Post Intake Of Ibuprofen During Menstruation?
I'm having stomach pain that hasn't gone away for a few hours, mostly right under my ribs. I just started my period yesterday, so I took 4 ibuprofen this morning at around 7AM, another 4 at 12PM, and then 2 Midol at 4PM- I don't have any cramps that feel like usual menstrual cramps, but instead my stomach feels like it's cramping. I've been somewhat dizzy and shaky and nauseous, plus I've had diarrhea since yesterday- I thought this was all period problems, but my stomach has been really bothering me over the past few hours. I haven't taken any medication since 4PM, and it's now 1AM and my stomach is still hurting, almost like I need to throw up but haven't. Is this just a problem from taking too much medication earlier that'll go away soon, or something more like an ulcer?

The multiple doses of an NSAID without antacid is a bit major risk factor for the development of acute gastritis with or without ulcer formation in the stomach.
My guidelines at present
- stop the further intake of ibuprofen
- more liquids intake in sessions
- capsule omeprazole or pantoprazole with sips of water
- syrup mylanta
- avoid all spices, non-veg if consuming
- avoid stress and anxiety
- do follow up after 24 hours or early as per the need for the condition
