Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went to an urgent care lab today to get a urinalysis on protein in my urine was worried because my total blood protein has gone from 6.9 to 5.9 in a few years currently album is 4.2 and globulin is a low but bottom normal 1.7. Wondering if extreme diet changes are responsible. Have gone lower carb and lost lots of weight. protein in urine came back negative but I don t have details. Should I be worried
Don't worry but it sounds like you need to be eating more protein. Lean meats, eggs, beans and nuts are good sources of protein. Extreme diet changes can result in low protein so be careful and try to eat a balanced diet with lean protein and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Exercise and drinking plenty of water is important for good health as well.
