What Causes Swelling On Either Side Of The Face?

hi doctor i am experiencing swelling one side bigger than the other on the side of my face next to the eyes. It wasn t this way before and the only thing i can think of is going to the hospital not too long ago and getting allot of iv for a stomach problem. the reason why i think this is causing it is because i know i had allot put in and when i suck at the teeth and gums of my mouth i take out allot of watery smelly fluid with lots of attached together slimy white bubble like substance (i have allot retained in there) also when i urinate the white bubble substance appears looking similar to the one that comes out my teeth gums but not exact its thinner (maybe more broken down since its urine?).. well this swelling is really hard on me and i was hoping is it possible to bring it down by drinking water and urinating? (like would you think the substance im taking out my teeth gums is the same as the one in my urine?) or is there a medication that can reduce the swelling or break down the substance? or is there maybe a draining technique? your effort and help is extremely appreciated thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for asking healthcare magic
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns.
With this presentation, I think you might be having nephrotic syndrome. Nephrotic syndrome is a kidney disorder that causes your body to excrete too much protein in your urine.
Signs and symptoms of nephrotic syndrome include:
1) Swelling (edema), particularly around your eyes and in your ankles and feet
2) Foamy urine, which may be caused by excess protein in your urine
3) Weight gain due to excess fluid retention

Treatment for nephrotic syndrome includes treating the underlying condition that's causing it and taking medications.
I would suggest you see a doctor (preferably an internist or nephrologist) for proper assessment and management

I hope that helps
I wish you well
