What Causes Sudden Loss Of Vision And Severe Headache?

My 23 yr old daughter woke up 6 weeks ago with 50% vision in her left eye and a severe headache.She attended hospital has Mri and brain scan with colour -all clear. She has lumbar puncture again all clear. Ophthalmologist advised that it was an a typical optic Neurotis. Her sight has not returned and she now has headache again...where do we go from here?

Hello,

Regarding your concern, I would explain that her symptoms could be related to optic Neuritis, considering the fact that her vision has not returned.

Coming to this point, I would recommend taking IV steroids for a short period of time.

Regarding a headache, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist and discussing the most appropriate treatment options.

A follow up with brain MRI after a year is necessary too.
