What Causes Straining Pain In Eye With Redness And Headache?

Hello Dr. Meyer, I experienced a sharp zapping pain in my eye yesterday afternoon followed by a pretty bad headache. Last night I noticed a little white dot at the edge of my iris with a small reddish area around it in the cornea. There was continued pain in the eye although not the sharp zaps as yesterday afternoon but more of a constant straining pain especially when i wore my glasses or bent over. This morning i felt the sharp pain again and my headache has returned. The spot is still there and i think the redness has spread a bit. I called my ophthalmologist but cannot see him until next Tuesday. What can i do in the interim?
