Hi I ve started to get quite frightening stabbing pains that come out of nowhere in the same spot in my head and I don t understand what this could be? Any ideas? I could be doing anything even resting and they come on just above my ear on the right hand side.

Dear
I am sorry for the symptoms you are suffering
I read your query and understand your concern
It seems you are suffering from a primary headache (hemicrania)
Those have no specific cause
Factors which can provoke them are some such as caffein abuse, abusing with picant food or missing meals and sleep abuse
I don't think you have reason to worry too much, it is fully treatable
You can use pain killers to avoid pain and schedule a meeting with your neurologist
If pain became daily or twice a week better start daily treatment (such as amitryptiline or propanolol)
Discuss with your doctor about my opinion
Hope my answer will help you
Stay healthy
Best regards
