What Causes Slurred Speech And Hallucinations?

Whenever my dad goes outside and sits in the sun after about 20 minutes he starts having slurred speech and starts saying random things he also starts hallucinating for example today he thought he was searching for a number on his phone but instead was moving his finger around on the palm of his hand as if it was a phone screen what could the problem be? My dads 72 and a diabetic

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Exposure to sun causes heal exhaustion ( overwork in sun in youngsters / just exposure to sun in elderly & weak persons/ diabetes patients/ low thyroid levels ). This causes water & also salt depletion... leading to transient( recovered in 20-30 minutes of management ) dehydration & electrolyte imbalance..which leads to marked impaired judgement , disorientation & slurred speech .
Home care consists of replacement of water with salt & little sugar.
Avoiding exposure to sun/ drinking lot of water & good diabetic control is needful to avoid further complication of kidney involvement.
