Hi Dr. I am a 44 yr old female. I had gastric bypass in 2004.Sometimes when I eat, it just doesn't settle right and I need to throw up to feel better.I had cut my front yard that day and got a little hot,but I don't feel it was overly so.Anyway, I had eaten 2 small bites of chicken, a whole biscuit and 2 small bites of another.I felt immediately sick.I went to the restroom and began to regurgitate. The bread thickness coming back up caused me to gag and strain my face/head.All of a sudden a severe cutting, stabbing pain started to continually shoot through my right side front of my head and my right eyeball!I have never felt anything so painful in my eyeball especially. It lasted about 3-5 minutes.I went to E.R. The doctor didn't do a ct scan, but diagnosed me with a migrain. He was giving me iv fluids and pain meds.I fell asleep briefly and woke up and felt better, but within 10 minutes the pain came back in my right eye.He gave me more meds in my iv and sent me home. How do I know I didn't have a stroke?Without going into my life history,I have been under a lot of stress in the past year.My husband died last September and I have a 10 yr old daughter, a 2 year old granddaughter I have custody of, and her father,my 19 yr old son who is currently in a relationship with a 17 year old girl that is expecting a baby boy in September that is missing 2 of his 4 heart valves(?)and his aortic something. I'm STRESSED!I also have cervical Dystonia that keeps me in pain daily.I haven't had that head/eye pain since. What do you think, Migrain or possible stroke?
