What Causes Severe Headache At Night?

I have recently been waking up with severe headaches at night that sometimes go away when I sit up for a while but usually I have to take an otc pain med. They change in severity when I move my head from laying on my back to laying on my side (worse on my sides) and I just get up and hope they stop. Help!

Hello,

In my opinion, these types of headaches should be investigated further for the underlying cause. Hypnic headaches may be one possible explanation. However, neurological evaluation is necessary for these types of symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
