What Causes Severe Chills, Shaking And Lower Back Pain?
I had severe chills, I was shaking and so cold a couple hours ago. It was so bad it actually hurt. I have been having mid and lower back pain for about a week. I also think I had a bladder infection about 2 weeks ago and I tried to treat it at home with lots of fluids. Not sure that it went away completely tho because at the end of my urination it stings a little.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to urinary tract infection. It usually gives fever with chills and associated back ache. You can go for urine routine examination to confirm this. Antibiotic therapy will be needed for this. I usually start antibiotics like norfloxacin and send urine for culture and sensitivity. Antibiotics can be changed if necessary after getting the culture report. Taking barley water or cranberry juice is helpful. Potassium citrate in water can be taken if pain while urination persist. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
