What Causes Severe Body Tremors After A Hip Fracture?
My mother is 92 and broke her hip on Jan 23, 2016 - she is home from rehab and while her hands shook a little before the fall - she is shaking so much now that she can hardly get the fork to her mouth and her whole body shakes - what can be done about this if anything.
As per your history is concerned she has severe tremor after a hip fracture. I want to clarify that fracture has no relation with her tremor as she had it before fall as mentioned by you.
Tremor has many pathological causes so let us ruled out these two most common conditions first like Parkinson disease and graves disease for which do only [TSH] only because Parkinson disease is diagnosed in clinical only.
Second possibility will be complex regional pain syndrome [CRPS] which happens after any injury so ask patient whether she has pain in arm, hand or leg or not?
Thirdly check her drug history.
I hope i was able to answer your points which you had asked me and i hope your treating doctor will treat as per findings.
Wish you a good health
Thanks
