What Causes Purple Colored Mark In The Corner Of The Eye With A Mild Headache?

Hi, I just noticed today that on my left eye I had a purple coloured mark in the corner of my eye (on the white of my eye and in the corner nearest the nose) it spans from the top of my eye to the bottom (from what i can see before my eyelids get in the way) and reaches about 1cm from the corner of my eye. I also have a slight headache on the left side of my head but not the right. The area around the bruise thing looks a lot more bloodshot than usual aswell.
