What Causes Polymyalgia Rheumatica And Floaters In The Eyes?

Hi, I have been diagnosed with Poly V. I am now on a vegetarian diet, also excluding wheat, corn, potatoes and sugar to limit inflammation. I have black floaters in my vision and was wondering if this means that I still have too much iron in my body, or is it unrelated???

Hello,

Floaters are not related to other problem floaters are due to generative condition of retina. Fundus examination is required to locate for Hole tear or peripheral detachment.

There is no treatment for floaters only they are to be kept under watch if there is sudden increase then they indicate imminent detachment. Consult retina surgeon y can be applied to seal peripheral detachment.

Diet will not help to cure rheumatic condition, it is an auto immune disorder, iron in body will increase hemoglobin and will not be harm full. It is unrelated to black floaters.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
