Hello, Please consider calling your dentist for a clinical evaluation. You may have bitten your tongue or have a serious condition such as a cancer. Rinse with warm salt water, avoid spicy and acidic foods. Once you bite your tongue, it may swell and repeat biting can make it difficult to heal. Raw or cut tissue can be sensitive enough to cause a sharp pain when touched. An ulcerated sore may be present. There are rinses that your dentist can prescribe to help reduce the discomfort. Pain and anti-inflammatory medication can offer some relief. Continued good oral hygiene is important. You should also be evaluated for grinding your teeth and may need a night guard to prevent this. I hope this is helpful and you will have relief soon. I would be glad to answer additional questions. Thank you for your inquiry.
