What Causes Pain During Urination?

I am a 35 year old female with an active opiate addiction. I have had pain when urinating for months now. My urine culture is healthy; the pain is not UTI pain I am familiar with. I have been checked for STIs and all are negative. I have also wet the bed a few times a month, I'm using an alarm to control this. I have bladder pain when urinating, also. When I am not medicated, the pain is bad enough to cause me to cry. What could be going on?

Hi

Greetings from HealthcareMagic!

It appears that you are having bladder spasms which may be related to opiate addiction. You also need detailed evaluation by a urologist to rule out other causes like a UTI or interstitial cystitis (though unlikely).

Regards,
Dr. Rajat Arora,
Urologist
