What Causes On And Off Swelling Of Only One Eye?

I have one eyelid that swells up on and off during the day (particularly after exposure to my new dog or computer use). My eye doctor thinks it is an allergy and has prescribed medication - can you have an allergy in 1 eye only? Is there another disorder that would cause on/off eyelid swelling?

allergy should effect both eye, but your history suggest allergy. however lid should be examined to exclude calazion sty or hordiolum. if allergy may try levocetrizine 5mg tablet daily. cromal eye drop may be applied 3times daily. try to keep distance from dog.
