my mom is 84. She is experiencing nauseau for several days. She is a colon cancer survivor (2009) and had 1/3 of the colon removed. She had a CT of abdomen Thurs 3/29 no results yet. She feels like something is stuck in her throat, and is unable to eat. Do I take her to ER now or wait til the AM to talk to her doc?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Gastritis and esophagitis may be the causes of vomiting. Some, it may be due to the drugs taken for a long time particularly antibiotic or analgesics. Second thought, it may be due to age. Underlying cause of nausea matters the great and it has to be managed accordingly. If the underlying cause is not specific then it can be managed with Ondansetron and Omeprazole once in day.

Hope I have answered your query.
