What Causes Metallic Smell In Mucus While Sneezing?

I have a metallic smell in my mucus, after I sneeze or blow my nose. I don t smell it in my nose, but just the mucus. Why is this? Also, I sometimes wake up to the metallic taste in my mouth. Only in the mornings. Anything would be greatly appreciated.
