What Causes Loss Of Words When Speaking While On Cyproheptadine For Migraine?
Hi I have had a migraine for 2 months and can t seem to shake it. I was in hospital for 8 nights and still have them along with rapid heartbeat and numbing pins/needles from my right cheek all the down to my leg, chest pain and am hot all the time. triptan medication isn t working. had ct scans and mri of brain nothing showed up and had several heart tests done to rule that out. I saw a neurologist and he prescribed me cyproheptadine for migraines and said the symptoms will go away when the migraine is gone. my migraine is under control But I am still having symptoms . The common stuff is ruled out but something is still off. I can t find the words to talk most of the time since I have had these symptoms.
Given the normal results of the CT and MRI, a brain lesion is excluded. So I suppose have been excluded metabolic or hormonal alterations through blood tests and heart issues.
In my opinion, those symptoms are not necessarily due to a migraine, they are also a common manifestation of anxiety, it is the most likely cause given the normal tests.
So I would discuss with your doctors the use of antidepressant medication which is the first choice for anxiety and has also a beneficial effect for migraine prevention.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
