What Causes Headache After Drinking Coffee?

Recently, when I drink coffee, I get a throbbing pain equally on both sides of my neck just under my jaw. I believe it is in the lyph nodes judging from diagrams I looked up. I have been a coffee drinker for a couple of years, only recently have noticed this pattern.

Hi,

Headache after the coffee can be related to caffeine, when it is in excess, it can cause headache and inability to sleep well. I would advise you to reduce the amount of coffee you take. Take adequate rest and sleep, moderate physical exercise, relaxation exercises.

if it doesn't help, than you can take acetaminophen for symptomatic relief. Throbbing pain in the neck, can be related to disease of carotid arteries, if you can upload a photograph, where exactly you have the pain in the neck.

Disease of the carotid includes aneurysm or narrowing of the arteries, so in my opinion if you continue to have these symptoms than you should visit your physician for physical examination and investigation like carotid Doppler or CT angiography.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
