What Causes Hallucinations While Suffering From Parkinson S Disease?

Hello, My father, an 86 year old man is becoming very irritable, hallucinations, & has shown signs of aggression that I feel could lead to bodily harm. He is very ill. Kidney failure and has had two strokes 3 months apart. He was recently diagnosed with Parkinson s. I would like to know what you would expect his life expectancy to be and what would be the most likely cause of his ultimate demise. He lives with his wife (not my mother ) and she seems to be in denial. I would like to see him in a care facility for his safety as well as hers. Help Thank you, Debbie

Hello,
It certainly sounds like he needs to be in a care facility. The hallucinations and aggression can have to do with the Parkinson's or with his kidney failure. Estimating his life expectancy is very difficult, it really depends upon how severe his kidney failure is. If he has end stage kidney failure and is not on dialysis then life expectancy would likely be less than 6 months.
