What Causes Fluid Retention In Body?

Hi Doctor , I weight 98 kgs and I am 27 years old .I feel my body is more of water than fat contenet ,because when i stop eating salt and eat fruits for 3 to 4 days i loose 3 to 3 kg s easily ,however i am putting on weight even when i eat very less food .

It is true that sodium (salt) causes fluid retention. But cutting out salt and going on and off it is not helpful. It is best to have a diet with no more than 3000mg of salt each day. Eating fresh fruits, vegetables, lean protein and whole grains is the best diet. Avoiding all processed food and sugars is a good way to lose weight.
