What Causes Enlarged Veins On The Hands?

After washing up this evening to get ready for bed, I just noticed my veins were enlarged, raised and filled-out in my left hand & arm. Then, I noticed the same following in my right hand. This isn't normally the case, although I have noticed them risen or enlarged in my hands a few times before. What causes this and is there any reason for me to be alarmed. Please and thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The enlarged veins on the unilateral hand can provoke some alarming sign as an obstruction to circulation or else, but that on both sides seems to be nonspecific accidental notice of the issue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
