What causes dull pain above the nape of the neck?

I have a dull pain in the base of my head in the back on the right side. I also can t stop falling asleep. I will be sitting at my desk and my head just drops or someone will be talking to me and I just fall asleep, I do have a cough so I may have a slight touch of the flu that has been traveling so maybe that s the cause/

As you explain the history yes it might be due to the viral infection traveling and you can take painkillers for this. But if it lasts more better to consult your doctor.
