What Causes Dizziness When Reading With Progressive Lens?

I am 73 and two months + since first cataract and about 6 weeks after 2nd cataract. I can see great except for reading. I almost went for the mono vision but since I have never worn that type of contact, I opted for two same lens and reading or progressive lens. I find myself sometimes dizzy, with reading and progressive lens. Getting concerning as it seems to affect balance slightly. Dizzy is not spinning kind. Was thinking I need to have meds re-evaluated or can cataract surgery do this.

Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having dizziness when reading with progressive lenses.

My response to your question is as follows.

These symptoms may indicate improper power of the lens. Hence this requires verification of the glasses and the refractive error and prescription of the lenses accordingly.

Hence I advice you to consult your optometrist or eye doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope this information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for any further questions and I will be happy to answer and assist you.

Thank you
