My 93 year old mother is complaining about dizziness, fainting, headaches, lower back aches every since she s been taking the following meds daily: Digoxin 125 mg; Losartan 50 mg and Diltiazem 180 mg. We think these meds are not mixing well with each other. HELP? Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Dizziness and fainting may be side effects of diltiazem or a symptom of severe aortic stenosis. So she can consult the cardiologist for a change in treatment or to perform an Echocardiography.
You also have to check her blood pressure, because it might still be high. These medicines are a good choice for hypertension treatment, but if the blood pressure continues being high, the cardiologist can change the dosage or add other medicines.
She can also consult a neurologist for a better examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
