What Causes Bruising After Injury?

I had TKR in May. Took Xarelto for only 1 month, ending June 18. Stopped cold turkey. Ever since, I get vivid dark brusing if I hit my lower arms (to wrist area). Even a heavey- duty bandaid, when pealed off gives this bruise. Doctor told me to stop taking fish oil, flax seed, etc. I am 72 years old. Since August, especially. Now November. Getting concerned. What blood tests? What causing? Never had bruising before.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Bruising at this age is usually secondary to vasculitis.
2. Additionally the skin would also be thinned out, so any mild bruise, even band aid removal would be cause subcutaneous bleeding, which manifests as bruises.
3. You need to be well hydrated. Along with it, apply moisturizers to skin.
4. You can get a hemostasis profile done. It should be normal. You need to take more Vitamin and protein rich nutrition.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
