What Causes Breathing Difficulty While On Nystatin?
I am 68 years old and 96 pounds I have been taking Nystatin about 2 months. 500,000 one in the morning 1/2 at lunch and the whole 500,000 at dinner. Is it okay to take 1/2 at night. I had a situation last night and felt I could not breath. felt hot and I opened the window for fresh air. I used my inhailer and used essential oils to relax. I slept well but went back to bed this morning and was not able to do much today except sleep. Is this okay?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your symptoms are suggestive of paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea. That usually results from a cardiac condition. If i got your symptoms right, you had severe breathlessness after sleeping for a bit and you needed to open a window to get your breathing back.
What cardiac conditions do you have? If you are not aware of anything, you should get a cardiology evaluation done.
I hope this helped
