What Causes Blood Spots Under The Feet And Ankle In A 15-year-old Athlete?

My 15 year old grandaughter has what appears to be blood spots under her feet and on her ankle, no fever or pain. All ER test were negative. She is an athlete playing basketball and throwing the shot put and discuss in track. ER has never seen such and dont know what it could be and advised to watch it and notify if it spreads or fever appears. You have any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The spots on feet and ankle can be of various origin, the most common is coagulation parameter disturbances or others.

I would like to discuss further the case, if you can provide a photo snap of the both legs of her.

Till that time, she has to observe its progress as said by the ER team.

Thanks.

Wish her fine health.
