What Causes Blood In Urine After Fall On Back?

I am 82, 5' tall, 140 lbs, good health. Fell yesterday on my back, tailbone, and then notice faint pink blood in my urine last night. This morning there was a little blood and since morning I have none (7 pm). Cause for concern, should I see my doctor?

Hello,

I think cause for blood in urine in your case is, traumatic injury to urinary tract, it may be blunt injury to kidneys, bladder, ureter or genito-urinary parts. It may not be severe but sometimes it may be.

So, I will suggest you to do ultrasound abdomen and pelvis and review here with detailed history or consult with surgeon. Watch for blood in urine and consult with surgeon immediately if it is associated with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting et cetera. For that, you can take tablet Pause after consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale
