What Causes Blisters Under The Tongue?

I was brushing my teeth last night and all of a sudden my mouth started bleeding. Not bad but blood was all over my toothbrush and I had no idea where it was coming from. I looked under my tongue and did see some polyp type things under me tongue. It looked like the blood might have been coming from one of the polyps. Any thoughts ??
