What Causes Bleeding From Vein On Leg After Shaving It?

I have noticed a small what I thought was a little vein on my leg, which never bothered me nor was painful. I was just shaving and when I shaved that area blood starting squirting out. I applied pressure and the blood has stopped, should I be concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, this is a Varicose vein.
There is no need to worry. Please consult a Vascular Surgeon and get a Color Doppler of the venous system of the affected limb. This will dictate what treatment your Varicose veins deserve. The options would be Compression stockings, Injection sclerotherapy, Laser or open surgery.
Just consult the right Doctor and you will get the right treatment.
But it needs to be treated.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
