What Causes Bladder Problems After A Turps Operation In A 80 Year Old?

I had a turps op six weeks ago and still have to wear a catheter. I am 81. i had a turps op 25 years ago and I was back at work in2 weeks.I have been told to wait another month. If it still fails I might another op. I have been feeling quite ill . Sweating and needing sometimes two changes of nightclothes per night. may have your comments?

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. The earlier surgery was for benign prostatic hypertrophy. Now, I think it was done for prostatic carcinoma.
2. Night sweat are a symptom of prostatic carcinoma.
3. It whole cancer was excised, night Sweat's should stop. Take good amount of fluids to maintain hydration. PSA levels will help in diagnosing recurrence.
