What Causes Abdominal Pain And Pain During Bowel Movement?

I have abdominal pain. It actually feels like I m sitting on a sharp knife when I sit. Bowel movements and urination really hurt my stomach. I ve had a CBC and all is normal. I ve also had an x ray which showed nothing more that weird gas patterns. Do you have any idea what might be the problem? I was doing better on a clear liquid diet but once I had some soup with long grain rice I find myself back in pain.

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern. It could be IBS or GERD. though a complete history and physical exam would require before labeling it as IBS Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional GI disorder characterized by abdominal pain and altered bowel habits in the absence of specific and unique organic pathology.

Stress reduction a high fiber diet should be the initial therapy, a two week course of PPI and PROKINETICs like ITOPRIDE may also be used in consult with your doctor

wishing you best of health

Thanks
